Description of Role

Maple Education is a dynamic and forward thinking private tutorial school/exam centre that specialises in helping children gain confidence in learning. We teach in small classes of just four children and focus on personalised education that addresses each child’s unique needs. We operate outside school hours during term time and have over 200 children on our roll.

We are seeking special individuals to join our friendly, supportive team. We aim to employ enthusiastic teachers who can deliver Maths and English to small groups of three to four between 4pm and 7.30pm on two weekdays, and/or on Saturdays mornings. We aim to support all our children in preparing for the 11+ exam. Support and full training will be given on delivering our unique service.

An ability to work with children of different abilities, and a rigorous approach to quality teaching and learning are absolutely essential. NQTs and retired teachers are welcome to apply - we provide a supportive environment for a first teaching post. This position may suit a teacher who wishes to work outside mainstream system in an unusual setting that allows children to enjoy learning and grow in confidence.

We welcome visitors and prefer to interview candidates who have been round the centre. Please telephone the school secretary, Hyacinth Garnett on 01296 747500 to arrange a time to come and see what we do.
