At Maple, we can help with homework management, but more importantly we can teach the study skills and confidence that will drive your child to believe that they can do well.
We are professionally qualified teachers of:

- Special Education Needs (up to GCSE)
How We Can Help
At Maple, we examine not only academic levels but also attitudes to learning and self-confidence. Our honest feedback will leave you in no doubt about your child's current levels. Irrespective of whether your child is a well-rounded genius that does the ironing at home, or she hates writing and maths, we can design a personal learning programme tailored to their individual needs. No child is a failure, but some need extra nurturing to instil a sense of belief in their potential.

We divide our service into two areas: the examined curriculum and the non-examined curriculum.
The Examined Curriculum
This covers the core subjects of:
We focus on first ensuring a pupil has covered the curriculum in depth. We then concentrate on study techniques and revision in preparation for exams at GCSE and A-Level.
The Non-examined Curriculum
Many pupils lack a broad knowledge base and this shortcoming can have a serious impact on educating the whole child. Our aim is to broaden the horizons of all our pupils. At Maple we teach our students:
- how to think
- how to be take risks in learning
- public speaking
- to believe in their ability
- knowledge about the world
- to see the connection between doing well school and getting ahead in life.
The after school tutorial serves the needs of children already in school but who need extra teaching in a different, more personal environment. We have small classes of just 4 and our lessons last an hour and a half. Depending on need, some children attend one session a week and others up to three times a week – i.e. one session for Maths, English and Science. Pupils can write some exams with us. We work with schools so there is no conflict.
Monday - Thursday: 5:45 - 9:00 pm
Saturday: 10:15 - 11:45 am
Lessons are taught on an individual basis, in small groups of four by highly qualified teachers.
Each session lasts 1.5 hours with a break half way.
We recommend two sessions a week for students who are below national levels for attaining A-C grades.
