Exam information for 2018 will be available from Wednesday, 20 September 2017.


We know that taking an exam as a private candidate can be overwhelming and daunting, especially when you are unsure of the procedures. We can take you step-by-step through the process of registering for an exam. Please take note of our registration deadlines below, so as to avoid leaving it too late to book your exams. If you have any queries at all, please feel free to call us on 01296 747500.

Maple Education is a friendly centre that offers advice and guidance to private candidates. We can help you with most written exams at GCSE, IGCSE, AS and A2 levels. Unfortunately we DO NOT offer practical, aural/oral exams at our Centre.

Registration Fees

New candidates are charged a one-off, non-refundable fee of £40 to cover identity processing.

Exam Fees

1-Unit AS/A Level Subject

£100.00 per unit

2-Units or more - AS/A Level Subject

£90.00 per unit


£130.00 per subject


£150.00 per subject

Double awards are charged twice these amounts.

Registration Deadlines for 2017

The deadlines to register for exams for the 2017 Series are as follows:

January 2017 Edexcel IGCSEs only

15th October 2016

Summer 2017

4th February 2017

You may still register for exams after these deadlines but late fees will be applicable

How We Can Help You Prepare for Your Exams

Many private candidates may have left school a while ago or may be home educated. Over the years we have seen brilliant candidates achieve lower grades than they expected simply because they lacked exposure, experience and exam skills, or they did not anticipate their knowledge gaps.

If you have been out of school for some time or are home educated, sitting a mock exam is imperative. Mock exam practice will enhance your skills of time management, nerve control and exam strategy. We recommend taking mocks two months prior to your exam.
